Crazy Summer Weather

Last night we had the biggest rain storm since living in our house. Big enough that we got a little worried about flooding. The thunder and lightning were going crazy. I counted lightning happening every 1-2 seconds. It was a non-stop show for about 1 hour. Then we noticed that in front of our neighbors house to the West, the road was deep in water. The drain wasn't not doing the job. Either it was plugged up or there was too much rain all at once. The sidewalk in front of our house was covered in a few inches of water as well. So we joined some of the neighbors outside, out of harms way of course, to make sure our neighbors house wasn't going to get flooded. Actually with exception of our neighbors who let their children run in the 2 feet deep water on the road while lightning was still going on. Crazy people!!! By 10:30 the drain started doing its job and the road cleared up. It was quite a storm to remember. I hope you can somewhat tell from the pictures what it looked like.
