O' Where, O' Where has the summer gone...

It has been two months and a lot has been going on. I don't even know where to start. I had three big events going on this summer and even though that isn't nearly as much as most people, it was a lot for me!

At the end of June I got to go to Girls Camp with the young women in our ward! It was a blast and we had an awesome camp director who made it so much fun! It was fun to get to know the girls and leaders better and enjoy some time out in nature. It made me realize that I don't mind camping and maybe I should go more often! We had fun going on the zip line, giving the girls facials while soaking their feet, doing the limbo, enduring some rain, and realizing how blessed we are with the knowledge of the gospel! Our theme for camp was GOT WORTH?, going along with the message from Johnny Lingo! (If you don't know what movie this is, check it out! Has a great message, but the acting is pretty weak! haha!) I was so glad that I went and can't wait for next time!

Our awesome group of girls and leaders!

That's right! :)

At the end of July I got the chance to go with our stake on Pioneer Trek! I won't lie, but I wasn't too sure about going. I knew it would be a great opportunity and that I wouldn't regret going, but come on! Does walking in the heat in pioneer clothing pushing a handcart sound like lots of fun to you? Well, of course I went and of course I was not disappointed! It was a wonderful experience! I got to be a big sister in my family. It was fun to get to know other youth and leaders in our stake. I know that many prayers were answered in my behalf as I really worried about the unknown about how it would go. It was awesome to see 14-18 year-olds so full of hard work and determination. My testimony of the pioneers grew so much! It is amazing what they went through day after day walking with their great faith in the gospel! I didn't take my camera because I didn't want to worry about taking pictures, but Simon got one of me when I got home. Simon and the girls were there to greet me when we got home and my very thoughtful husband had a yummy Jamba Juice waiting for me! Just what I needed!

Don't I look lovely after four hot, long days without a shower! :)
